The Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project "Unity Beyond Borders" (Project No: 2024-1-AT01-KA152-YOU-000198325), carried out in partnership with Artemis Women's Power MTÜ and coordinated by Verein für Gemeinwesenarbeit und Minderheitenintegration, took place in Pflach, Austria, from 1–8 December 2024.

Bringing together young people from Austria, Estonia, Romania, Türkiye, and Spain, the project aimed to raise awareness about the social, economic, and humanitarian challenges faced by refugee women while fostering empathy, solidarity, and respect for human rights among young people. Through intercultural learning and non-formal education methods, participants explored the unique experiences of refugee women, challenged stereotypes, and promoted social inclusion and gender equality.

Throughout the eight-day youth exchange, participants engaged in a variety of activities, including documentary screenings, role-playing simulations, group research, presentations, storytelling workshops, and creative media production. By examining the real-life experiences of refugee women, they gained a deeper understanding of migration, displacement, discrimination, and the importance of intercultural dialogue. These activities also encouraged participants to develop critical thinking, teamwork, communication, and advocacy skills.

Beyond increasing awareness, the project sought to empower young people to become advocates for refugee women's rights within their own communities. By sharing the knowledge and experiences gained during the exchange, participants are expected to contribute to combating discrimination, promoting inclusive societies, and encouraging greater understanding of refugee issues. The project also strengthened intercultural cooperation and highlighted the educational opportunities provided by the Erasmus+ Programme.
