Rebirth: Climate Crisis and Migration Project Concluded with International Cooperation and Environmental Awareness

The “Rebirth: Climate Crisis and Migration” Erasmus+ Youth Workers Mobility Project (Reference Number: 2024-3-ES02-KA153-YOU-000265598), in which Artemis Women's Power MTÜ participated as a partner organization, was successfully completed in Madrid/Alcobendas, Spain. Bringing together youth workers from Spain, Türkiye, North Macedonia, Estonia, Italy, Romania, and Hungary, the project provided a valuable platform for international exchange and collaboration on topics such as climate change, environmental migration, sustainability, and active citizenship.

Throughout the project, participants explored the social and environmental impacts of climate-related challenges through a variety of educational activities. Workshops, group discussions, and collaborative learning sessions focused on environmental migration, climate-induced displacement, and the protection of natural resources. These activities enabled youth workers to gain a broader understanding of global environmental issues and to reflect on the role of youth work in promoting environmental awareness and sustainable lifestyles.

One of the highlights of the project was the environmental exhibition and community engagement activities organized together with local residents. Participants presented photo collages, creative environmental artworks, and awareness-raising materials at public stands while sharing their experiences from the Erasmus+ programme. Through interactive presentations and educational games, local community members were encouraged to reflect on environmental protection, sustainable living, and the challenges posed by climate change. These activities strengthened the connection between youth workers and local citizens while promoting shared responsibility for environmental sustainability.

The project also provided participants with the opportunity to explore the cultural and social landscape of Madrid and Alcobendas. Through stakeholder visits and meetings with organizations working in the fields of environment, migration, and social inclusion, youth workers gained valuable insights into innovative practices and community-based approaches. These experiences offered inspiration and practical ideas that participants can apply in their future work with young people. At the end of the project, participants received their Youthpass certificates, officially recognizing the competences and learning outcomes acquired throughout the mobility.

The main objective of the “Rebirth: Climate Crisis and Migration” project was to strengthen youth workers’ understanding of climate change and environmental migration while promoting environmental responsibility and international cooperation. As a result of the project, participants enhanced their competences in environmental awareness, intercultural communication, teamwork, project management, and non-formal education methodologies. Furthermore, the strong partnerships and connections established among participating organizations created a solid foundation for future international initiatives addressing environmental challenges and youth empowerment across Europe.
