He for She: Inspiring Equality Through Education, Creativity, and Cultural Exchange

He for She was an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project organized by Artemis Women's Power MTÜ under project number 2023-1-EE01-KA152-YOU-000113609. The project took place in Saaremaa, Estonia, from 9 December to 16 December 2023, bringing together participants from Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Romania, and Turkey. Through interactive workshops, performances, conferences, and intercultural activities, the project aimed to promote gender equality, encourage active citizenship, and empower young people to challenge stereotypes and build more inclusive communities.

The activities encouraged participants to strengthen teamwork while developing communication and problem-solving skills. Interactive team games required participants to cooperate, create strategies, and work toward common goals, demonstrating the importance of trust, collaboration, and shared responsibility. Learning through practice allowed participants to experience how effective teamwork contributes to achieving successful outcomes while strengthening relationships among young people from different cultural backgrounds.

A central focus of the project was raising awareness of gender equality from an early age. During expert-led conferences and case study discussions, participants explored the importance of equal opportunities in childhood and examined practical approaches to overcoming gender stereotypes. By exchanging ideas, participating in brainstorming sessions, and working collaboratively to solve real-life cases, participants improved their critical thinking, empathy, and ability to view social issues from multiple perspectives.

Creative learning methods also played an important role in achieving the project's objectives. A theatrical pantomime performance portraying the life of Maria de Lourdes Pintasilgo highlighted the achievements of women when equal opportunities are provided, inspiring participants to reflect on leadership, perseverance, and social inclusion. These messages were further reinforced through a Flash Mob performance, where participants symbolically represented women in a wide range of professions, challenging traditional gender roles and demonstrating that talent and opportunity should never be limited by stereotypes.

The project concluded its educational approach by combining continuous reflection with intercultural dialogue. Evaluation activities encouraged participants to assess their personal learning outcomes and consider how they could apply new knowledge within their own communities. The Romanian Cultural Night further strengthened mutual understanding by introducing participants to Romanian traditions, music, dance, language, and cuisine. Together, these experiences fostered intercultural respect, reduced prejudices, and empowered participants to become ambassadors for equality, diversity, and active participation across Europe.
